Here's a quick 60th birthday card that I made for a friend who celebrated with a BBQ cook-off!

Sponge Bob Birthday for Tristin!

We went to a birthday party for our friend Tristin today who turned one. His party theme was Sponge Bob Square Pants. I found some Sponge Bob stickers from Michaels and had a bunch of old water related stickers that I used to make this fun card for a 1 year old. It's hard to tell from the picture but the letters and numbers (T, W, 1) all have a raised bubble on them to make them seem like bubbles coming up through the water. It's nice to do a card every once in a while that doesn't have specific lines or layout. Hope he (or his parents) enjoyed his card, I had a fun time making it.

Happy Birthday to my Mother!

This is the last of 3 birthday celebrations we had this weekend. I didn't have much time to sit down and stamp a special card, so I had to go the scrapbooking way and used patterned paper as my main feature. The 3 birds are symbolic in two ways for me, one was that my Mom had 3 daughters and two, this was the 3rd birthday celebration of the weekend. My Mom loved the card and that's all that mattered to me. (Sorry about the photo, had to take it in my car to get a copy before I gave it to my Mom).

Happy 50th Birthday

We celebrated our friend Mark's 50th birthday today and so the card was made to be masculine, simple and to the point. Whenever I get the chance, I like to make the card as personal as possible, especially by using a photo. That worked out great for this card, as I used the new "book ends" by Quickutz Silhouette. The paper was two sided, so it was the base of the card as well as the background (reverse red side) to the white cardstock and sentiment. I really like the "book ends" from Quickutz and hope to use them a lot in the future.

Happy Birthday - Rock Star

Today we went to a birthday party for our friend Eetu who turned 2. The theme to his birthday party was "Come Party like a Rock Star." I used my Quickutz Silhouette to cut the stars (Stars - stackables) and also cut out "Eetu" and "2" to personalize them. As you can see, I didn't add any bling to it since it was for a boy, let alone a 2 year old. Love personalizing with the Silhouette.

Happy Birthday to my Dad!

Today was my Dad's birthday. I've been pretty busy getting ready for Easter that I didn't have a lot of time to put a card together for him (sorry Dad). This is what I made quickly using my Big Shot Express and Sizzix Emblosslits - some of my favorite new tools, plus a little brad for the center of the flower! It's simple, but to the point!

Pirate themed birthday card

We went to our friend's 30th birthday party today. He's very into the "Pirate" theme, even the invitations were in a bottle with a message inside (very cute). So of course I had to create something pirate related. I didn't do any stamping on this project either (sorry, in the mist of really trying to organize my crafts), so I went the easy route and created the wording/die-cuts on my Quickutz Silhouette (love this machine). Pirate/Sailing paper from "Best Creations Inc" and I think it's called "California" (not sure). And of course I finished it off with a ribbon and metal tag! The backwards B (with the W) was a replication attempt from the invitation, which I think is some kind of nick name for the birthday boy.

Mickey Mouse theme birthday card

We went to our friend's 2nd birthday party and her invitation was from Mickey Mouse. So of course I had to created some kind of card that had Disney incorporated and this is what I came up with. I almost forgot to take a picture of it, so I did so just before giving it to the birthday girl.

There was no stamping involved this time, but I did use some "Mickey Mouse" ears scissors to make the top and bottom borders. I also used 2 different sized circle cutters to create the head. My newest fascination in crafting is decorating chip board, so I covered a "2" chip board with some Mickey Mouse paper and then topped off the card with my favorite embelishments... ribbon and a metal tag!
